The Sportsman has announced that the forthcoming Betfred Challenge Cup Fourth Round clash between Dewsbury Rams and Widnes Vikings will be screened live on this website.
Widnes head coach John Kear is more than familiar with the tournament, having famously guided Sheffield Eagles to Wembley glory against Wigan Warriors back in 1998 and done the same with Hull FC against Leeds Rhinos seven years later.
Seven-time winners Widnes secured their place in the Fourth Round with an 80-4 win against the Southern Conference League champions Wests Warriors. The Vikings are currently seventh in the Betfred Championship with three wins from six matches.
Dewsbury Rams, whose Betfred League One tie with Workington Town was shown on The Sportsman at the weekend, also have history in this competition, losing to Wigan in the first Wembley final back in 1929.
Liam Finn’s side have made a brilliant start to the league season and are currently top of the table having kicked off their campaign with three wins from three.
The match will kick off at 3pm and whoever wins will take on the winners of the tie between London Broncos and Doncaster later in April, after the Fourth and Fifth Round draws were made together.
