There was once one name that used to strike fear into the hearts of defenders in Super League.

That name would be elusive Malta international Jarrod Sammut.

One of those in the very elusive band of ‘magicians’ in Super League, Sammut could destroy a defence in one movement, whether a pass, kick or a run.

That being said, it has never really worked for the current Barrow Raiders star in the top flight due to one thing or another and his stays at Super League clubs have never lasted that long.

Now, though it looks as though he is moving on from Cumbria once more.

Sammut simply took to social media to announce his availability, tweeting: “Who’s looking for a half?”

Now, though, the future is uncertain for Sammut, though Keighley Cougars halfback Dane Chisholm is keen to see the Maltese international link up with him at Cougar Park.

Chisholm tweeted in response: “Surely we’re going to link up soon bra.”
