This morning the news was confirmed that Oliver Gildart had been released from his contract at Wests Tigers.
The centre joined the NRL club at the end of 2021 after establishing himself into a star centre since playing in his first Grand Final in 2015.
He went on to win two Grand Finals with the Wigan Warriors as well as starring for England under Wayne Bennett scoring a world class try against New Zealand in 2018.
After establishing himself as a class talent, he earnt the move to the NRL following Wigan teammate Jackson Hastings to the Tigers.
However, after playing just eight games for the club, he was linked with a move to Leeds Rhinos prior to moving on loan to Sydney Roosters.
It was thought he could join them permanently but he was still contracted to the Tigers until this morning.
Now his former Wigan teammate and now former Wests Tigers teammate Hastings has responded to the news.
He took to Twitter to say: “All the best brother, been a pleasure last 3 years playing along side you. I know you’ll succeed at your next destination. I’ll be cheering you.”

It was thought that Gildart could return to Super League in 2023 with Leeds still needing a centre after the loss of Zak Hardaker and Liam Sutcliffe.
Meanwhile, Warrington was also a rumoured destination.
However, it is being reported that Gildart will be joining his former international coach Bennett at new club The Dolphins in 2023.
