Ex-Wigan Warriors coach Michael Maguire chased by three clubs

Michael Maguire will always be remembered by Wigan fans fondly.
After 12 years without a title and a decade without finishing top, in his two seasons with the Warriors he lifted every major trophy starting with the League Leaders’ Shield prior to beating St Helens in the 2010 Grand Final and then winning the Challenge Cup Final against Leeds in 2011.
His brilliance didn’t stop in the NRL as he guided Souths to the NRL title in 2014. Current New Zealand boss, Maguire recently left his post as Wests Tigers Head Coach in a decision which caused plenty of discussion.
So, the very accomplished coach is available at this moment in time and three clubs are reportedly pursuing the ex-Wigan coach but not as a Head Coach according to Zerotackle.
Grand Finalists Parramatta were one of the firsts to make a move for Maguire with Eels boss Brad Arthur having already met him.
Meanwhile, Canterbury Bulldogs director of football Phil Gould is looking to bring some experience into new coach Cameron Ciraldo’s team ahead of the new season and is considering a move for Maguire.
However, it seems Canberra Raiders may be in pole position.
This comes as The Daily Telegraph’s Michael Carayannis revealing that they have made an offer to Maguire who is reportedly keen to get back into coaching.
