Rugby league is a massively tough and physical game – everyone knows that.
But, sometimes an injury can make people stand back and wince – and that is exactly the reaction to current Newcastle Thunder forward James Chapelhow’s issue.
After spending 18 weeks on the sideline due to shoulder surgery, the rampaging forward – whose twin Ted also plays for Thunder – fractured and dislocated his ankle.
Chapelhow posted on Instagram: “Sport can be a cruel world sometimes.
“Sunday was my first game back fit after spending 18 weeks recovering from shoulder surgery… 10 minutes after coming on the field I dislocated and fractured my ankle, putting me out of action again for another long period of time
“Absolutely heartbroken to be injured again but I’m determined to come back bigger and better than ever 💪🏼
“Thank you everyone for the kind messages and support 🙏🏼road to recovery starts now.”
The 26-year-old was initially set to join the Ottawa Aces for 2021 before the Canadian club’s future looked bleak in British rugby league.
Since then, both him and his brother Ted have made the move to the north east to help Newcastle in their bid for promotion in 2022.
