Ben Murdoch-Masila has been one of the standout forwards for the New Zealand Warriors in recent seasons.
However, at the weekend the rampaging forward was sent to their feeder team, Redcliffe Dolphins – who will simply become the Dolphins when they join the NRL in 2023.
Murdoch-Masila has made 12 appearances for the Warriors since joining ahead of the 2021 season, scoring six tries, but it appears as though he is finding chances hard to come by in 2022 having failed to make an appearance just yet.
The Tongan international made a big name for himself in Super League, joining the Salford Red Devils ahead of the 2016 season from NRL side Penrith Panthers, earning big raps for his destructive ball-carrying and big hits out wide.
At Salford, Murdoch-Masila registered 60 appearances in two seasons before a big money move to Warrington Wolves saw him win the Challenge Cup in 2019.
He again became a huge hit for his new side, causing havoc for Super League sides, but, after three seasons at the Halliwell Jones and 68 appearances later, Murdoch-Masila signed a deal with the New Zealand Warriors to take him back home.
But, the 31-year-old has since found himself out of favour in 2022 so far.
