Ex-Wakefield Trinity man keen on signing England star for NRL club and changing his position

Dom Young is being chased by a huge number of clubs in the NRL.

Young, born in Wakefield, made his Super League debut with the Huddersfield Giants in 2020 before moving to Newcastle Knights in the NRL where he has really made a name for himself especially in 2022 with tries galore.

These tries earnt him a call-up to Shaun Wane’s England squad for the World Cup and on his full debut for England he scored a world class brace against Samoa to help England the game comfortably despite being underdogs going into the match.

Unsurprisingly, this alongside the rest of his World Cup performances have only drummed up the interest surrounding the winger, which was already present before resulting in up to nine clubs chasing him.

Previously, Serious About Rugby League exclusively revealed the clubs who have shown an interest in the former Huddersfield winger over the last 12 months.

Canberra Raiders, Melbourne Storm, the Dolphins and North Queensland Cowboys are all clubs from outside of Sydney who have had an interest in the outside back over the last year.

Of course, plenty of Sydney based clubs are keen on the winger including the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

According to the Daily Telegraph, their Head Coach and former Wakefield Trinity star Jason Demetriou is keen on the player and moving him to the centres.

They said:

“Rabbitohs coach Jason Demetriou is a huge fan of Young‘s size and speed, believing that he could easily transition to the centres.”
