Ex-Super League forward tears up gym membership due to COVID practices

In this day and age, a whole host of sports stars have acquired the COVID-19 vaccine, but for some, they have simply refused the current situation.

For former Widnes Vikings, Wakefield Trinity and Crusaders RL forward Frank Winterstein, that is exactly true.

The 34-year-old – who last played for Toulouse Olympique in the Championship – has been a vociferous opponent of the COVID problem and now he has torn up his gym membership following its safety practices surrounding the virus.

Winterstein said: “I would like to inform yourself & the club that I will be asking for an immediate cancellation of membership (free of penalty or fee) for myself & my father-in-law.

“I’ve attached some information from your membership agreement and believe with your enforcement of the “Covid safe” directives (which are completely unlawful & also optional for a business to abide by) you’ve unfortunately pushed my self & my father-in-law into a corner where we feel discriminated against and this “adversely affects” us and our wellbeing.”
