A former Super League and NRL star will appear in court tomorrow after being arrested by police and charged with domestic violence offences.
Richard Fa’aoso, who played for the Castleford Tigers in Super League in 2006 as well as the likes of Melbourne Storm and Newcastle Knights in the NRL, is set to face a local court in Campbelltown after being charged with: destroy or damage property (domestic violence), common assault (domestic violence) and stalk/intimidate intend fear physical harm (domestic). His hearing will commence on Friday.
Fa’aoso was part of the 2006 Castleford side that had just been promoted, but went straight back down to the Championship after registering 26 appearances for the Tigers that year.
The forward, however, spent most of his career at Newcastle where he notched up almost 100 appearances for the Knights before winning the Grand Final with Melbourne in 2012.
Stints at Manly Sea Eagles and Parramatta Eels followed, with Fa’aoso also making appearances for Penrith Panthers and Sydney Roosters earlier in his career.
