Huddersfield Giants have done some brilliant transfer business going into 2023.

They have brought in Jake Connor from Hull FC, Esan Marsters from NRL, Jake Bibby from Wigan Warriors but perhaps the biggest signing is three time Super League Champion and former Harry Sunderland Award winner Kevin Naiqama.

He left the Saints at the end of 2021 as he moved to the NRL but after one year back down under he returns to Super League with Huddersfield as a major signing.

He has now arrived in West Yorkshire and begun pre-season training with Ian Watson’s side.

Huddersfield’s new number four has spoken to the Giants’ Twitter page about this saying:

“It was a good first day, just settling in and learning the squad. Really quick introductions and getting stuck in, I’m looking forward to it.”

He is set to play centre but can also fill in at fullback with the club revealing that he alongside Connor, NRL bound Will Pryce and Tui Lolohea is an option Watson will consider at the back which shows just how strong the Giants’ squad is going into 2023.

If he plays centre, he will likely keep newly appointed club captain Leroy Cudjoe out of the side which demonstrates the depth of Watson’s squad as they look to build on their third place finish in 2022 as they also played in a Challenge Cup Final.

Naiqama will help the club build on this with his winning mentality.
