Ex-St Helens and Wigan Warriors man reveals who is the best player in Super League history in his opinion

Super League has had plenty of star players who could be considered the competition’s greatest of all time or GOAT as some people say.
Jamie Peacock is Super League’s most successful player with nine Grand Final wins.
Danny McGuire and Rob Burrow are the only two players to win eight Grand Finals with the same team and only ever lost once. Alongside Kevin Sinfield, the Leeds Rhinos duo are in an exclusive club to win the Harry Sunderland Award.
Sinfield is also in the mix having captained Leeds to seven Grand Finals as Super League’s most successful ever skipper.
He is also the competition’s leading scorer and the leading goal kicker of the summer era.
There is of course another two-time Harry Sunderland Award winner in the shape of James Roby who is a six-time Super League Champion and the leading appearance maker in Super League.
He is the only skipper to lift the Super League title four years in a row.
In the eyes of his former teammate Mark Flanagan, who also plied his trade at Salford Red Devils and Wigan Warriors, believes he is the best in Super League history:
“I think he is. The more I’ve thought about it, I think he is.
“He’s played the most games, the context of those games means he’s played in the toughest position as an 80-minute hooker doing more work than anyone else against stronger players and the consistency he’s done it over, to be in the Dream Team seven times an international since 2004 or 05 and he’d still probably played for them now.”
