Ex-St Helens and Huddersfield Giants boss Nathan Brown facing potential axe

Former St Helens and Huddersfield Giants head coach Nathan Brown is said to be nearing the end of his current job.

Brown is currently at the New Zealand Warriors but is set for ‘urgent talks’ following a set of dismal results, including a 70-10 horror show against Melbourne Storm.

The veteran boss missed a place in the NRL Finals in 2021 – his first full season with the club – and looks destined to miss out on a play-off spot once more.

And, ahead of his side’s fixture against St George Illawarra Dragons – which they lost – Brown spoke to the media about the disappointment in recent weeks.

“The last three weeks we’ve certainly been disappointed,’’ Brown said.

“We thought we were making decent progress before that and the big key for us is trying to get some consistency across the board and two halves of footy together.

“We haven’t nailed two good halves.

“We‘re one win out of the eight and the challenge for us is to make sure we’re one of the teams pushing forward so that when we do go back to New Zealand (in round 16) we go home and the fans have a team to watch that’s playing consistent footy.’’
