Ex Red Star Boss to lead new club Stoke Staffies

Today, new club Stoke Staffies announced the exciting appointment of Trev Smith as Head Coach.

Going into their inaugural season, the Staffies have brought in Smith believing he’s at the forefront of modern coaching as a member of “the new bread of younger coaches.” They’re hoping he will bring huge success to the young club.

Smith already has an impressive CV having worked on the international scene with Chile and helping the brilliant development of Red Star Belgrade as Head Coach. Currently in Australia, he has coached throughout Penrith with the likes of Blacktown Workers.

He’s also brilliant at developing youngsters and currently works with the Virtus High Performance Academy having already shone with the Western Suburbs RL Academy.

He’ll be looking to build on his previous successes with the Staffies and many believe that his appointment singles the intent of the new club as they look to make a splash going into their first ever season. Judging by the reaction on Facebook, Stoke’s fans and those associated with the club are certainly excited to have him on board.
