Ex-player says Super League has gotten “boring” suggesting St Helens should play 12 men to give others hope

Jamie Foster knows what it takes to get to a Grand Final helping St Helens to the Grand Final in 2010 and 2011 with his brilliant goal kicking.

On both occasions, the Saints came up short against Wigan Warriors and Leeds Rhinos respectively.

However, the current Saints team is getting to Grand Finals again and again and winning and are chasing a fifth title in a row.

The former Hull FC and Bradford Bulls winger believes Saints will again be unstoppable in 2023 which he thinks is making Super League a little boring.

He took to Twitter to back St Helens for glory again in 2023 and suggest that they should play 12 players to give opponents “a glimmer of hope”.

“Is anyone knocking Saints off there perch next season?” he said.

“Looking at the other teams I can’t see anyone beating them if I’m honest but winning another one would just get boring might be worth just picking 12 players and giving other teams a glimmer of hope?”

Last year’s Grand Finalists Leeds and of course St Helens’ biggest rivals might have something to say about that as might Huddersfield Giants who have a star studded squad for the 2023 season.

St Helens start the season in Australia with a friendly against St George Illawarra Dragons prior to a World Club Challenge clash against NRL Champions Penrith Panthers.
