Ex-Leeds Rhinos star James Segeyaro posts ominous message ahead of professional rugby league return

Former Leeds Rhinos hooker James Segeyaro has posted an ominous message on his social media as he gears up for a possible tilt at the NRL once more.

The livewire hooker, who made ten appearances for the Leeds Rhinos back in 2016, was free to return to the NRL in June 2021 following 16 months out of rugby league.

In that time since his ban lifted, Segeyaro had been training with the Cronulla Sharks with whom he made 38 appearances for back in 2017 and 2018.

But, he has now signed a deal ith the Blacktown Workers side in a bid to earn a deal with the Manly Sea Eagles.

Segeyaro, 31, was banned after testing positive for a prohibited substance from using a housemate’s blender.

The hooker was then able to convince the NRL’s Anti-Doping Tribunal that the banned substance entered his system inadvertently, so his drugs ban was cut short.

Segeyaro posted: “You know the saying “It’s not the destination it’s the journey“, well that has resonated with me on so manly levels I cannot begin to explain.

“These past 2 years have been nothing short of a blessing in many ways.

“I mean there have been a lot character building moments – my true love and passion being taken away from for me, I failed at being a husband and hurt beautiful human.

“I lost motivation in certain parts in my life and became overweight, eating and drinking rubbish.

“But on the flip side, I learnt new skills like traffic control, had a breakthrough in breathe work several times, got decent at concreting and fell in love with monkey 😉😂

“I become a content creator, wrote some blogs, live where I want to live, worked my fucking asss off and never gave up on my dream to play in the NRL again.

“I know it’s not a nrl contract , but for me it represents HOPE.

“I know it’s only a matter of time ‘til that dream comes true again – I just need a opportunity.

“Can’t no one ever tell you that you CANT or you WONT – and people that say that are just losers, period.

“Life for me is about pursuing my dreams, even if fail, I fail on my terms and by my choices – not from other people’s decisions!

“All in all I just want to thank my homies that held me down for them 2 years, it was beautiful chaos but it’s over and I’m fuckin back baby !!!!!! See y’all at work.”
