Former Leeds Rhinos captain Stevie Ward is set to outline his persistent concussion struggles in a documentary on Sky Sports.

Ex-Leeds Rhinos captain, Ward, was forced to retire at the start of the 2020 season due to a number of serious concussions and side effects and has since broadcast his journey on a number of outlets, including ITV, in an attempt to highlight the effects of head injuries whilst playing sport.

And, Ward will now take his story to one of sport’s biggest media outlets.

Ward, in particular, has struggled with the daily life of the concussion symptoms with severe migraines and consistent dizziness things the former Leeds captain has had to endure since stepping away from rugby league.

He could be forced to stop private treatment for his neurological injury, with Leeds fans previously setting up a go fund me page in order to help Ward carry on his treatment.

“I took a big bang to the head in the first half and came off with concussion,” Ward recalled in the documentary. “The weeks and months that followed that game were the hardest in my life.”

“I think a lot of people struggle to get their head around it,” Ward said. “I think people think ‘he looks all right’.”
