Ex-Leeds Rhinos man Tyler Dupree denied first Salford Red Devils appearance today

This week Salford Red Devils confirmed the signing of Tyler Dupree from Widnes.

Since leaving Leeds, Dupree has made a real name for himself in the lower leagues firstly with Oldham and now with the Vikings and has forced his way back into Super League with many tipping him for big things.

Dupree will not be able to make his full Salford debut against his former club Leeds tomorrow and was set to get his first taste of action today with the reserves as they play St Helens joining Greg Burke in the front row for the Red Devils as he looks to return to the side in the coming weeks.

However, he was withdrawn at the last minute replaced by Daniel Spencer-Tonks.

Despite this, it would not be a surprise to see both Dupree and Burke feature in Salford’s next game against Castleford which is again at home.

Salford have already beaten both Leeds and the Tigers this season so will see the two fixtures as an opportunity to get some results after some good performances recently failed to down the league’s top two as the Red Devils suffered closely fought wins against Wigan and St Helens away.
