Championship new boys Hunslet have secured the services of former Leeds Rhinos man Harrison Gilmore ahead of the new season. Gilmore joins Hunslet after spending three seasons at Headingley, working his way through the academy ranks at the Rhinos and into the reserve picture.
However, while he made 22 appearances for Leeds‘ second string last season, he never made it into the first-team picture and left the club without making a senior outing. As such, the former Stanningley junior will be keen to make his mark with Hunslet and help Dean Muir’s side find traction in the second tier after their promotion from League One.
“Harrison is a talented player, who has attracted a lot of interest from other clubs,” Muir told the Hunslet club website about the signing. “He impressed us last pre-season in the Harry Jepson Trophy match.
“He offers us both punch on the edges and work rate through the middle. I can’t wait to start working with him.”
Gilmore added: “I grew up in Hunslet, so I know what a great club Hunslet is. The club is heading in the right direction and the Championship is going to be a real test, but one I can’t wait to get stuck into. I cant wait to get started.”
The Parksiders have been busy over the last few weeks with the ex-Leeds Rhinos man being joined by a number of additions made ahead of the 2025 season. Kevin Larroyer, Kobe Rugless and Noah Booth, are among the most high profile signings made, with the latter joining on loan from Wakefield Trinity.
However, the club have also landed Brad Clavering, Lachlan Hanneghan, Joe Gibbons, Billy Jowitt, Coby Nichol, Liam Welham, Keelan Foster, Joe Hartley and Dean Roberts, as part of what has been an extensive recruitment drive going into the new season.
