Goole Vikings have confirmed the signing of former Hull KR man Josh Guzdek for the 2025 season.
This is ahead of their first-ever season in RFL League One, following their successful application to join next year.
Guzdek becomes their fourth signing for 2025, and this comes just days after confirming Scott Taylor as their head coach.
Starting his career at Hull KR, he scored within 30 seconds on his debut, and has since gone on to play for Dewsbury Rams, Sheffield Eagles (where he won the 1895 Cup) and Doncaster RLFC.
The 29-year-old has mostly played at full-back across his career, and has, in 2024, been a starting Championship full-back for Doncaster, making this an ambitious signing for the Vikings.
Alongside him last year was fellow signing Tom Halliday.

Via a club statement, Goole Vikings head coach Scott Taylor said: “Josh is a fantastic signing for us and we’re really pleased to have got him over the line, as he had a lot of opportunities available to him.
“Josh is not only an outstanding player and incredibly versatile, but he is very level headed, professional, and works hard at his game. He is well respected and will be a big part of our group.
“His experience at this level, coupled with his natural talent, makes him a great addition to our squad and we’re confident he’ll play a pivotal role this season.”
In addition, Guzdek said: “I’m really excited to be joining Goole Vikings. The club’s ambition and vision really stood out to me, and I’m looking forward to being part of their first season.
“The squad they are assembling and their plans for the club are really exciting and it feels like I’m joining a club that really wants to go places.
“I’ve played at this level for a few years now, and I’m eager to bring my experience and versatility to the team. It’s a great challenge, and I’m ready to help the Vikings achieve big things.”
