Championship club Barrow Raiders have signed Super League Grand Final winner Greg Richards ahead of the 2026 season.
Richards has penned a one-year deal with the club in a move that takes him to his hometown club for the very first time.
The forward came through the ranks at St Helens as a youngster, working his way into the first-team picture as a teenager back in 2013 before going on to make 70 appearances for the Merseyside outfit. It was during his time with the Saints that Richards won a Grand Final, coming off the bench in the 2014 win over Wigan Warriors.
He moved on to join Leigh Centurions in 2017 where he spent a season and a half before representing London Broncos in Super League. He made 44 appearances for London over three seasons before signing for Hull KR.
The 30-year-old made 15 appearances for the Robins over the course of the 2022 season but joined Toulouse Olympique the year after and in three seasons with the French club he featured on 40 occasions.
Given his pedigree then, Richards represents a strong signing for the Raiders as they approach the new season.

“I’m over the moon to be joining Barrow,” Richards said after joining.
“It’s my hometown club and I used to watch them as a kid, so to be able to represent the town is amazing.
“I can’t wait to get started with the team, and hopefully we can have a good year.”
Barrow head coach Paul Crarey added: “It’s great news that we can announce the signing of a former Super League forward in Greg Richards.
“Greg is a Barrow lad who wants to play for his hometown team. He brings massive experience and will be a major asset for us next year, in what is already building towards an exciting Championship season.”
