A former Hull FC player was sent off for punching in his side’s pre-season friendly but not after allegations that he had been bitten were made with gruesome images since shared online.
Featherstone Rovers faced off against Goole Vikings in the Vikings’ first-ever game after being admitted to League One. It was a fixture that had been slated to take place this past weekend but it was postponed until Tuesday night on account of the weather.
It was certainly worth the wait though in terms of drama as the match saw a red card and has now seen allegations of biting made with images since shared online.
The Championship side easily defeated Goole, who are coached by former Hull FC player Scott Taylor, but it was two ex-Hull FC players at the centre of the controversy.

Former Black and Whites winger Connor Wynne was sent off in the 66th minute for ‘throwing a punch’ with Featherstone providing the update via their social media feed.
Responses quickly started to suggest that Wynne had been reacting to an alleged bite by former Hull FC man Jeylan Hodgson, something that Love Rugby League have claimed was placed on report by the match official.
Images of Wynne’s finger have also been shared in the comments on Featherstone’s initial post.
X user @abbiehaywood4 shared three images in response to the post about Wynne being dismissed to seemingly support the allegations of biting with the images showing Wynne’s bloodied finger before and after it had been treated.
It’s now up to the RFL to take action against both Wynne, for punching, and Hodgson for the alleged bite and it will be one of the first chances to see the new overhauled disciplinary system in action.
