Ex-Hull FC and Leeds Rhinos man names top three Super League fans with ‘best stadium’ claim made

- 10/07/2022 - Rugby League - Betfred Super League Magic Weekend - Hull KR v Hull FC - St. James' Park, Newcastle, England - Man of the Match, Jack Walker of Hull FC is interviewed by Gabby Logan after the match against Hull KR

Former Hull FC and Leeds Rhinos man Jack Walker has named the three Super League grounds with the best fans to play in front of.

Walker gave his verdict on his TikTok account which has become a must-follow for rugby league fans with the full-back initially using it to document his off-season journey following his release from Hull FC.

Now that he has signed for Championship side Sheffield Eagles, Walker is still utilising the social media platform to post training content and engage with fans who have plenty of questions to ask of him.

Walker had even used the platform to provide updates on him signing for Sheffield as he teased that he was in talks to join a new club, however, many of his recent videos have seen him answer fans questions.

The most recent of those asked who he would argue are the top three sets of fans in Super League to play in front of. Walker’s answer will be sure to upset at least nine sets of fans whilst those in second and third might also contest their placings.

Posting this week on his TikTok, Walker read out the question before denoting his reasoning as to which Super League fans are the best to play in front of.

“Question time, the top three fans I have played in front of,” he said.

“The top two are so close and I think everyone would agree with me but I’m going to go number three, I don’t think anyone will think this, but it’s Castleford Tigers.

“I feel like the ground is a little bit small so you feel like the crowd are on top of you. As a full-back, when that high ball goes up and all the fans are going ‘Woahhhh’, you feel like they’re next to you.”

With Cas locked in at three, Walker then moved onto the top two with the full-back selecting two of his former clubs, naming one for having the best stadium and the other for the best fans.

He said: “Number one and number two, it’s a close number two – Leeds Rhinos. It’s the best stadium and they’re so loud.

“Number one is Hull KR and like I say, it’s so hard to make a call because they’re both unbelievable – they’re both so loud.”

Walker signed for Hull KR midway through the 2023 season as he joined the Robins from Bradford Bulls. From there, he would cross the city to Hull FC before his release at the end of the 2024 season.

Giving his reasoning for selecting Headingley and Craven Park, Walker explained: “As a player playing for that team, when I played for Leeds and the crowd got going, you got fired up. The same goes for Hull KR, when the fans are singing you’re proper fired up.

“They’re my top three anyway. It’s hard to describe why, KR and Leeds are basically the same and number three I would say Castleford.”
