Ex-Hull FC and Hull KR star Albert Kelly searching for new club

Albert Kelly once had the world at his feet in Super League.

From arriving on UK shores, the maverick talent made a name for himself as one of the most talented in the UK game.

Kelly first joined Hull KR in 2015, registering almost 50 appearances before making the cross-city move to Hull FC where he arguably impressed even more.

The 31-year-old made over 70 appearances for the Black and Whites, but exited at the end of the 2020 Super League season to go back home.

In two seasons, Kelly has offered another outlet for Brisbane boss Kevin Walters.

However, the likes of Adam Reynolds, Tyson Gamble, Ezra Mam and Billy Walters have all been in front of the former Super League livewire.

Kelly is now 31, but he still has lot to give as his performances for Brisbane when given a shot prove.

He has not, however, been offered another contract at Red Hill with Walters seemingly going in another direction with the loss of Tyson Gamble as well.

Walters sees Mam and Gamble as his halves for 2023 whilst his son Billy is seen as one for the number 14 role, leaving Kelly on the periphery.

It’s perhaps unlikely that the former Cronulla Sharks and Gold Coast Titans halfback will find another NRL club, but a second-tier Australian side would certainly be a place for Kelly to hang his hat.
