Ex-Castleford Tigers man finds new club as he dedicates 2023 to brother Adam Walker

Sadly Jonathan Walker went through something in 2022 that nobody ever wants to go through.

This was as he lost his twin brother and former Salford Red Devils player Adam Walker at the far too young age of just 31.

Now Walker is set to dedicate the 2023 season to his brother Adam as he joins a new club.

The former Scotland international has played for Gateshead Thunder, Castleford Tigers, Doncaster, Keighley Cougars, Hull KR, Leigh Leopards – then Leigh Centurions – Whitehaven, London Broncos, Bradford Bulls and Dewsbury Rams during his career in England.

Now Walker is down under though he did, with the help of a go fund me page, returned to England for his brother’s funeral.

In 2023 he will join a new club in the shape of Geelong Sharks in Victoria.

This was confirmed on Instagram with the post also confirming that he will be “dedicating the season to twin brother Adam Walker.”

After a difficult year, the whole rugby league community both in Australia and England will be wishing the former Castleford, Hull KR and Bradford prop well as he hopes to do his brother proud in 2023 and beyond.

It underlines the mental toughness of Jonathan as he goes in search of a new challenge after such a tragedy and we will all wish him well.
