This month rugby league was rocked by some heart breaking news.
Ex-Huddersfield Giants, St Helens and Hull KR forward Adam Walker passed away on 4th October at the age of 31.
The prop had the pleasure of playing in the 2019 Super League Grand Final with Salford Red Devils but three years later the rugby league world is sadly mourning his much too soon passing.
Naturally, his twin brother Jonathan Walker was one of the hardest hit.
The former Castleford Tigers, Hull KR and Leigh Centurions man was in Australia when he heard the news and was struggling to get out of the country.
Fortunately, a go fund me page which was shared and supported by his former club Bradford Bulls,
Now in the country, today Walker will be at his brother’s funeral and prior to this he posted a brief but touching tribute to his brother on social media.
He said: “Today is all about my brother. I love you.”
Naturally today’s funeral will be family and friends only but the wake at The Commercial Inn in Thackley from 2pm is open to everyone and fans are encouraged to wear rugby shirts.
It will be a tough day for Jonathan and the whole family and our thoughts are with them as rugby league says goodbye to a former Super League star much too soon.
