Ex-Castleford Tigers halfback Ben Roberts takes his personal training business in exciting new direction

Ben Roberts is a name that will be remembered fondly in one part of West Yorkshire.

That place is Castleford, where the mercurial halfback played five seasons before departing midway through the 2019 Super League season after succumbing to a difficult injury.

Roberts had more than played his part in an incredible turnaround for the Tigers after years in the doldrums, with a League Leaders’ Shield and a Grand Final appearance in 2017 coming just five years after Castleford had finished joint bottom of Super League with just six wins from 21 games.

Now, though, Roberts has his own personal training business and looks in incredible shape as he hits his late 30s.

And, he is also set to launch his own personal program specifically designed for rugby league professionals.

The ex-Tiger has also hit the headlines in recent days after defending the sacked Canterbury Bulldogs John Asiata following his refusal to take the COVID-19 vaccine.

Roberts stated: “Measure a man not when he follows the crowd, but stands strong by his own morals & beliefs.”

It’s a battle that continues to rage on in both society and sport with the divide seem to widening ever further.
