Gadwin Springer will be moving to French Elite One side Villeneuve XIII after several seasons in England.

After spells at the Catalans Dragons, Castleford Tigers, Toronto Wolfpack and most recently Featherstone Rovers and Halifax in the Championship, Springer will be returning home for the 2022 season.

Springer made his Super League debut for the Dragons against St Helens in 2014 and went on to make 58 appearances for Castleford following his move midway through 2015.

Halifax Director of Rugby Ian Croad released this statement when Springer left midway through 2021.

“As in any business sometimes things don’t work out as planned  for both parties. We are focusing on finishing as high as possible in the regular season as we push towards the playoffs. We made the decision to go our separate ways. We wish Gadwin all the best for the future, and he’s always welcome at the Shay when he’s not playing.”
