With the end of the regular season here, many Super League clubs will have focus firmly set on preparations for 2025 – including recruitment.
Currently, clubs can have a maximum of seven ‘non-Federation trained players’ in their squad – and these players are defined as those that didn’t play three seasons of rugby in Europe before they turned 21.
With that in mind, here’s every current Super League side’s quota situation ahead of 2025.
Castleford Tigers
Jacob Miller, signed from local rivals Wakefield Trinity ahead of the 2023 season, has one year left on his contract, as do all three of their quota signings ahead of the current season: Elie El-Zakhem, Nixon Putt and Sylvester Namo.
Tex Hoy, signed mid-season after being released by Hull FC, penned a further two-year contract extension meaning he’ll be at the club through 2026, while Liam Horne also signed a two-year extension this year.
The side’s only new signing so far for next year is Zac Cini from Parramatta Eels – a much-needed centre contracted through 2026.
This means, as it stands, there are no free quota spots for the Tigers to utilise ahead of next year.
However, there is potential for players’ contracts to be terminated – the most likely probably being either Nixon Putt, or Jacob Miller, who has Jenson Windley battling for his spot after the players’ respective recent performances.
With suggestions that half-back Daejarn Asi could sign for the club from Parramatta Eels, they would need to get someone off the books to facilitate this.

Catalans Dragons
Siosiua Taukeiaho and Jayden Nikorima saw their contracts terminated mid-season, and this left them spots free to sign Jarrod Wallace, who has been confirmed to be leaving at the end of the current campaign.
Also leaving are Manu Ma’u and Matt Ikuvalu, following the expiration of their own contracts.
That leaves just Chris Satae, Tariq Sims and Bayley Sironen contracted through 2025 of their current players.
Tevita Pangai Junior, signed from The Dolphins, will also have his contract up in 2025.
However, the addition of Luke Keary through 2026 adds another to their ranks.
Nick Cotric, signed from Canberra Raiders for next year, is signed on a three-year deal through 2027.

Huddersfield Giants
The Giants already know that Esan Marsters won’t be staying with the club next year, as he has signed a three-year deal with Salford Red Devils from 2025.
Kevin Naiqama, similarly, will be heading elsewhere, with his contract up at the end of the season.
He has been linked with St Helens, but they’ve now signed another quota player and may not have any space free to make the signing, depending on key contract decisions.
Staying on for 2026 is Tui Lolohea, entering his fourth season with the Giants since a move from Salford Red Devils.
Joining him will likely be both of their new quota signings for 2024 – Jack Murchie and Adam Clune.
Meanwhile, they have signed Zac Woolford from Canberra Raiders on a one-year deal, strengthening their hooker situation – bringing him back to Super League.
This leaves three spots free for Huddersfield to make some further marquee signings for 2025.

Hull FC
It has been a season full of change for Hull FC, and that includes their quota players.
All of Tex Hoy, Nu Brown, Jayden Okunbor and Franklin Pele left mid-season, giving them four new spots to play with.
Jed Cartwright was signed mid-season from Newcastle Knights, and is contracted through 2025.
However, King Vuniyayawa will not take up a spot next year, as he’s only in on loan until the end of the season.
Meanwhile Carlos Tuimavave‘s departure has been confirmed, meaning another free spot for next season.
Ligi Sao has another year of his contract, while Herman Ese’ese has another two.
Jordan Rapana and Aidan Sezer have both signed on two-year deals, meaning they’ll be contracted through 2026.
Finally, new signing John Asiata will take up, and is contracted through 2027.

Hull KR
Peta Hiku, Kelepi Tanginoa and Jai Whitbread all signed three-year deals, so they’re contracted with the club through 2026.
Meanwhile, Sauaso Sue has one more year on his contract.
Another with a contract up after 2025 is half-back Tyrone May, whose fruitful partnership with Mikey Lewis is expected to continue into the future.
However, two quota players won’t be at the club next season.
Tom Opacic is leaving at the end of the year after two seasons at the club, despite previously having a contract through 2025.
Meanwhile, Matt Parcell has been confirmed to be retiring at the end of the campaign, with position in the squad will be taken up by signing Michael McIlorum.
Those two players will be replaced by Rhyse Martin, signed from Leeds Rhinos, and Jared Waerea-Hargreaves, an NRL icon who is Sydney Roosters’ most-capped player.

Leeds Rhinos
The three NRL recruits ahead of 2024 – Lachlan Miller, Paul Momirovski and Matt Frawley are all contracted through next year, while Miller’s also runs through the 2026 season.
Sam Lisone has been a regular off the bench over the past two seasons, and is contracted for another year.
Meanwhile, Brodie Croft has two more years left on the three-year contract he signed ahead of this season.
Two of the Rhinos’ current quota players are off-contract at the end of 2024.
Rhyse Martin rejected a new contract and will be heading to Hull KR next year.
Also leaving is David Fusitu’a, who has struggled with injuries since signing from New Zealand Warriors. He only managed one game before Round 14 this year due to two big injuries and the club have decided that they’ll let him go.

Leigh Leopards
It has already been confirmed that John Asiata will be playing for Hull FC next season, with the club captain lining up for a second Super League team in 2025.
Also leaving is Tom Amone, who has signed a two-year deal with Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs in a return to NRL.
Although he was signed on for next year, Kai O’Donnell has also signed an NRL deal for next year, heading to North Queensland Cowboys.
Ricky Leutele is also off-contract at the end of the year, but it’s unclear where he will be playing it 2025, with nothing yet confirmed – he’s been linked with a return to Huddersfield Giants.
However, joining the side for next year will be David Armstrong, a full-back signed on a three-year deal.
This means the Leopards could have three quota spots available to use up over the off-season.
However, remaining at the club through 2025 are Edwin Ipape and Matt Moylan, while the longest contracted quota player is Aaron Pene, who could stay until the end of 2026.

London Broncos
After just one season back in Super League, the Broncos will be back in the RFL Championship next season, regardless of whether they finish bottom.
They knew this before the season even started, and therefore, were unable to sign any of their quota players on contracts beyond the end of this year.
Jarred Bassett, Jack Campagnolo, Rhys Kennedy, Ethan Natoli, Dean Parata and Emmanuel Waine will all, as things stand, be moving ahead of next season.
Salford Red Devils
Cade Cust‘s contract is up at the end of the year and he will be joining Hull FC.
Similarly, Loghan Lewis won’t remain contracted past this year unless he has his own option triggered – reportedly, that has been triggered.
Tim Lafai has one more year on his contract after joining for the 2022 season, and his contract is up at the same time as Jayden Nikorima‘s – who
Longer contracts are in the hands of Australian second-row duo Sam Stone and Shane Wright, who are contracted through 2026.
The longest contract of the current quota players, however, is Nene Macdonald‘s, as he has another three years left on his four-year deal signed in October last year.

St Helens
Sione Mata’utia has been confirmed to be leaving the club at the end of this year, and he will likely be followed through the exit door by Waqa Blake, whose contract is also up at the end of the year.
A decision is yet to be made on Konrad Hurrell, however – his contract is up at the end of the year, but the club has yet to trigger his extension for 2025.
Four players will still be around, however: Agnatius Paasi, Curtis Sironen, James Bell and Moses Mbye are all contracted for next season.
Joining them – and, as it stands, making their seven spots full – are new NRL signings Kyle Feldt and Tristan Sailor, who have signed on two-year deals and will be hoping to set Super League alight.

Warrington Wolves
Sam Kasiano’s release meant until the recent signing of Luke Yates, contracted through 2026, they had a spot free.
It has already been confirmed that Josh Drinkwater will leave the club at the end of the year, while Rodrick Tai has signed an extension through next year.
Paul Vaughan, meanwhile, is entering the final year of his contract next season after signing a three-year deal in 2023, joining from Canterbury Bulldogs.
Fellow prop Zane Musgrove, signed this year, also has one more year on the two-year contract he penned after leaving St George Illawarra Dragons.
However, there are some key names contracted all the way through the 2026 season.
Luke Yates was originally signed on a two-year deal from the start of the 2025 season, but he joined early from Huddersfield Giants for the remainder of the current campaign.
Meanwhile, after an excellent first Super League season for Lachlan Fitzgibbon, he’ll be available for Wire for another two years too.
Finally, fullback Matt Dufty, second in the league for both tries and try assists – and comfortably the highest metre-maker in Super League this season – is also contracted through 2026, meaning he’ll likely be a staple of Warrington sides for years to come.

Wigan Warriors
It’s only Willie Isa that won’t be contracted next year out of the Warriors’ current quota players after over 200 games for the club.
Adam Keighran has one more year, after signing from Catalans Dragons ahead of the current campaign.
Both Kaide Ellis and Patrick Mago are contracted through 2026, but the club has an option to extend Mago’s through 2027 if they wish,
On to some very long contracts, at least by Super League standards – Abbas Miski and Jai Field are contracted through 2027, while the reigning Man of Steel Bevan French has another three years on his contract, keeping him at the Brick Community Stadium until at least 2028.
