Earlier this week, Leeds Rhinos and Wakefield Trinity became the first Super League teams to play a pre-season friendly ahead of the 2026 season.
The Rhinos won the game 18-10 in a performance that highlighted just how promising the club’s latest crop of youngsters are, but there’s still seven weeks to go before the Super League gets underway.
Both sides will be action between now and then, too, and the head coaches will expect to see progress made.
In fact, January is looking like a busy month for Super League teams, with the 12 English sides having friendlies lined up. The two French teams will likely be in action too but they haven’t announced anything just yet.
