Every Super League centre off-contract in 2025 including Warrington Wolves quartet

Warrington Wolves Toby King

There are over 20 centres in Super League who are not contracted beyond the end of the upcoming 2025 season.

New legislation implemented ahead of the 2025 season means that clubs can open contract negotiations up with players from rival teams as soon as they go into the last year of their contract.

Previously, the deadline was May 1st but it has now been moved forward to December 1st meaning that clubs have had over a month already to negotiate with those players that have less than 12 months remaining on their contract.

Serious About Rugby League previously compiled a list of every single Super League player whose contract will expire at the end of the 2025 season but we’re now assessing the strength and depth at each position.

Teams looking to sign a centre for 2026 are in luck as over 20 centres are off-contract including some of the competition’s best at the position.

Some of the listed players could be considered versatile backs but we have selected players who are predominantly centres – that is to say that they’ve played the position in recent seasons meaning players such as Kallum Watkins and Josh Griffin are omitted.

Castleford Tigers have two centres without a deal for 2026 in Josh Hodson and Will Tate whilst Catalans Dragons’ pair of French internationals Matthieu Laguerre and Arthur Romano are also without deals for 2026.

Huddersfield Giants have a total of three centres without a deal in Connor Carr, Jake Bibby and club legend Leroy Cudjoe, although Cudjoe played the majority of his games in the pack in 2024. Jake Bibb

Hull FC are one of the few teams without a centre off contract but their cross-city rivals have young talent Connor Barley in the final year of his contract having recently signed a one-year extension with the Robins.

Leigh Leopards have former Love Island star Keanan Brand off contract at the end of the year whilst Salford Red Devils have two at the position without a deal – including a former Dream Team member in Tim Lafai, who is among the highest-profile players without a deal for 2026.

Versatile back Chris Hankinson is another at Salford who is off contract whilst St Helens see four of their players without a deal for 2026 including Konrad Hurrell who signed a one-year extension in November. Also off-contract for the Red Vee are Ben Davies, Dayon Sambou and Jonny Vaughan.

Wakefield have both Noah Booth and Jack Croft off contract but Warrington Wolves have four centres, including their two starters, without deals beyond the 2025 season. Toby King, Rodrick Tai, Stefan Ratchford and Connor Wrench all have less than 12 months on their deals.

As for Wigan, they have Adam Keighran off contract with the Australian speaking this off-season about how happy he was at Wigan but conceded that being ‘back home’ would be “ideal”.
