As Super League enters the second third of the season and the spell after Easter, we’re set for more live rugby league as the campaign truly hots up.
Meanwhile, the NRL likewise is roaring into gear down under whilst the Championship continues to be an engaging and dramatic story that we’re set to enjoy weekly instalments off.
So, with all three competitions again set to take centre stage this week, here’s every game you can watch on TV this week.
Thursday
Wakefield Trinity vs Huddersfield Giants – Sky Sports Mix 19:30
A West Yorkshire derby gets things underway. This is always a good game and the recent form of both sides will add a little extra spice to the fixture. Huddersfield started the season so well but one point over Easter has seen the Giants drop out of the top four to sixth with a one-point lead on seventh. Their away form has also been central to their slip with just three points picked up away from home this season. This means they simply have to win this game if they’re to keep their ambitions up in 2022 meanwhile Wakefield need a win after their good form evaporated since their Challenge Cup exit. Now just one point above 11th, they need to turn things around as well.
Friday
Gold Coast Titans vs Penrith Panthers – Sky Sports Arena 09:00
Gold Coast have the difficult task of taking on the unbeaten Premiers Penrith Panthers. Penrith look like the team to beat again in 2022 although the performances of Melbourne Storm will be keeping them honest. With the Strom racking up 70 points against the Warriors, it’s on the Panthers to make a statement against the struggling Titans.
South Sydney Rabbitohs vs Manly Sea Eagles – Sky Sports Arena 10:55
In another massive NRL fixture, two teams aiming for the top four in 2022 meet. The Rabbitohs are aiming to go one better than last year when they lost the Grand Final and take on a Manly side who have proven they can cope without Tom Trbojevic and a win here would be a great statement for the Sea Eagles.
Warrington Wolves vs Wigan Warriors – Sky Sports Arena 19:30
There are few games bigger in Super League than Warrington vs Wigan which is what we’re set to see this Friday. The Wolves have been boosted by two wins out of three over Easter as they look to turn their season around whilst the Warriors joined St Helens at the top of the table last Sunday. Always a big game, the league table and the ambitions of both sides adds something extra to this one.
Sunday
St George Illawarra Dragons vs Wests Tigers – Sky Sports Mix 07:00
In their last two games, Wests have defied the odds to claim one-point wins to boost their season thanks to Jackson Hastings and Luke Brooks. The duo will be hoping to inspire Wests to a third win over St George who come into the game in good form themselves after wins over Newcastle and Sydney Roosters.
Monday
Barrow Raiders vs York City Knights – Premier Sports 1 19:15
Barrow Raiders started 2022 so well but injuries and suspensions have stifled them recently culminating in a big loss to Halifax. Meanwhile, the Knights are in good shape with a recent run of form firing them to third above the Raiders. This makes this a massive game in the playoff race.
