Super League

Every rugby league match you can watch live on TV this week

Another huge weekend of rugby awaits. The Super League table is now wide open after St Helens downed league leaders Catalans. Meanwhile, a number of clubs are chasing places within the top six. Those high stakes will only adorn the top-notch encounters shown on Sky Sports.

Thursday:

10:50 Sky Sports Arena – Melbourne Storm v Canberra Raiders

But let’s not forget about the NRL. On Thursday morning, Sky are once again serving up the table topping Melbourne Storm who now appear headed for NRL glory for the second consecutive season. It’s hard to look beyond another Storm win here but don’t write off the Raiders. Once upon a time, the Storm always brought the best out of the Green Machine and with the Raiders needing a win to remain in the top eight, they could very well come up with a shock.

19:00 Sky Sports Arena – St Helens v Castleford Tigers

Then back in this hemisphere, a repeat of the Challenge Cup Final hits our screens. The Saints haven’t looked back since their Wembley win and are now within touching distance of top spot. However, they’ll be taking on revenge thirsty Tigers who come into the match on the back of a confidence boosting win at Headingley.

Friday:

9:00 Sky Sports Arena – St George Illawarra Dragons v Penrith Panthers

Penrith’s season is in danger of unravelling. A number of injuries has seen them slip behind Melbourne at the top and many have written them off where Grand Final glory is concerned. A win against the play-off chasing Dragons would be vital especially if they want to cling onto second place.

19:30 Sky Sports Arena – Hull KR v Wigan Warriors

This could be one of the best games of the weekend. Hull KR have been the entertainers this season and are well in the hunt for a play-off spot. Completing the double over last year’s league leaders will only boost their play-off hopes but the Warriors will be tough to beat considering their impressive upturn in form recently.

Saturday:

10:35 Sky Sports Arena – Manly Sea Eagles v Parramatta Eels

Manly and Parramatta meet in a huge game on Saturday. The Eels have plenty of critics to answer with a number of pundits claiming they don’t have the steel to cause the top teams problems despite the fact they currently sit fourth in the league two places above Manly who have been showered in praise all season. The Sea Eagles themselves need a win to underline their title credentials.

12:30 BBC Red One Button – Wheelchair Challenge Cup Final: Leeds Rhinos v The Argonauts

In only the second ever Wheelchair rugby game to be shown on the BBC, Leeds Rhinos are looking to retain the Challenge Cup as they take on The Argonauts. It should be a fast paced and hectic encounter as players in both sides look to shine ahead of next year’s World Cup.
