Super League

Every rugby league match you can watch live on TV this week

Last we enjoyed a rugby league feast as we stuck our teeth into two rounds of brilliant Super League action. But this week should prove to be just as good if not better as the top two do battle whilst the NRL continues to hot up with the finals nearing. So, without any further ado, here’s every game on TV this week.

Friday:

8:55 Sky Sports Mix – Canberra Raiders v St George Illawarra Dragons

Two teams right at the centre of the play-off race do battle on Friday morning. Canberra have flattered to deceive for most of this season but have managed to make a late push for the play-offs. They currently sit ninth in the league level on points with both eighth and seventh meaning they’re within touching distance of finals rugby. But the same is true of St George. The Dragons sit 10th but only sit behind the Raiders on points difference. Very little separates the two on the table and I imagine that’ll be the same this weekend as both desperately look for a win to force their way into the eight.

Saturday:

8:30 Sky Sports Arena – Sydney Roosters v Penrith Panthers

A week on from their humbling at the hands of high-flying Melbourne, the second place Panthers will need to dust themselves down to defeat Sydney if they don’t want to leave the door open for Souths to move ahead of them in the table. Meanwhile, the Roosters currently sit just outside the top four but a win could change that as they 2019 Premiers look to build momentum as the season draws to a close.

10:30 Sky Sports Arena – Manly Sea Eagles v Melbourne Storm

This should be a seismic clash as the champions elect take on many people’s dark horses for Premiership glory. Melbourne haven’t lost in weeks and now top spot appears to belong to them giving them the best chance at retaining their title. Meanwhile, Manly have quality in their ranks such as Tom Trbojevic. They could quite easily cause the upset or fire a warning shot with the play-offs waiting.

14:00 Sky Sports Arena – St Helens v Catalans Dragons

At this moment in time it doesn’t get any bigger than this. On Saturday, the top two do battle as Catalans look to prove they’re no pretenders against reigning Champions St Helens. The Dragons have been in a league of their own so far this season but haven’t been blowing away opponents in recent weeks whereas St Helens come into the game having demolished Hull FC. The Challenge Cup winners will want to prove they’re still the team to beat and victory will give them a real shot at the treble. However, the Dragons have lost one league game all season and have already beaten the Saints this term. This should be a classic.

Sunday:

18:00 Sky Sports Arena – Leigh Centurions v Hull KR

Leigh are still looking for a first win of the season but will fancy their chances on Sunday. Hull KR will undoubtedly be the favourites in this clash after a brilliant start to the season, but they now find themselves outside of the top six following back-to-back defeats to Catalans which may leave them short on confidence.
