The Challenge Cup is back this weekend with 14 ties in Round One of the competition.
The oldest and most prestigious competition in the game, it’s likely to race eyebrows across the country this weekend with sides from Scotland and Ireland playing as Galway Tribesmen make their Challenge Cup debut and Edinburgh Eagles host York Acron.
There’s three games being shown live as well. Rochdale Mayfield’s clash with Wigan St Patricks will be streamed by The Sportsman and kicks off at 2:15 this afternoon but before that the BBC are showing Orrell St James’ clash with the British Army at 12:30.
Meanwhile, OurLeague are broadcasting the tussle between Bentley and Stanningley on Sunday.
The second round is also set to receive similar broadcasting treatment and will take place in a fortnight with Betfred league 1 sides set to enter the competition at that stage.
