Batley Bulldogs secured their third consecutive victory with a 24-14 triumph against Rochdale Hornets at the Crown Oil Arena. A perfect kicking display from Pat Walker, with six goals from as many attempts, helped the Bulldogs to the spoils while prop Adam Gledhill and hooker Alistair Leak also got on the scoresheet,

The visitors led 14-8 at the break but it was Rochdale who opened the scoring thanks to Lewis Galbraith. The conversion was unsuccessful. Two tries without reply from Gledhill and Shaun Ainscough gave Batley a healthy advantage but the Hornets did notch the final score of the half through Jake Eccleston.

The second period saw Rochdale draw level with their opponents thanks to a converted try from Gary Middlehurst. However, the Hornets were left scoreless from that moment onwards while Batley found an extra gear to seal the win. Walker kicked two penalty goals, either side of a try from Leak, as Matt Diskin’s men picked up another two competition points.
