Huddersfield Giants 8-48 Hull FC

Wigan Warriors 20-22 Hull FC

Marc Sneyd scored 28 points as Hull cruised to a 48-8 victory at the John Smith’s Stadium against an inexperienced Huddersfield team.

Both Sneyd and half-back partner Albert Kelly put on a show as they proved too hot to handle for the Giants defence, scoring five tries between them.

Hull took the lead after four minutes as the Giants dropped the ball on their own line allowing Sneyd to find his winger Fetuli Taloanoa for the four-pointer.

The visitors would score again in the first 10 minutes as the man making all the headlines this week, Sneyd, took an interception, running 50 yards to score under the posts.

It was turning into a first half to remember for Lee Radford’s side as Albert Kelly went in for his first try, slicing through the Giants defence to touch down.

An almost perfect first 40 was complete three minutes before the break, another try from Sneyd, combined with his fourth successful goal made it 24-0 at half-time.

The second half started as the first ended with the Black and Whites on top and Kelly got his second try of the night as he showed great footwork close to the line.

It was starting to look more like a training session for the visitors when Josh Griffin took Sneyd’s pass to extend the lead to 36-0.

The Giants managed to stem the flow midway through the half as Sam Wood built on his two tries from last week, taking Ryan Brierley’s pass to cross the whitewash.

Normal service was resumed five minutes later as the mercurial Kelly made a break before feeding the ball to Carlos Tuimavave to get his name on the score sheet.

The icing was well and truly put on the cake five minutes from time as Man of the Match Sneyd crossed for his hat-trick, he made it 8/8 with the conversion to take his points tally to 28.

Huddersfield scored a late consolation try through Oliver Roberts but it was the perfect response from Hull and in particular Sneyd, as the Airlie Birds coasted to a 48-8 victory.
