Bradford Bulls 6-16 Swinton Lions

Swinton Lions ended the regular season in tenth place thanks to a 16-6 win over Bradford Bulls at the Provident Stadium. It was a perfect start for Stuart Littler, who took charge of his first Lions match following the departure of John Duffy to Featherstone Rovers.

Swinton were 6-0 up at the break after Shaun Robinson’s tenth minute try. 15 minutes later came a sending off for Bradford as winger Johnny Campbell was dismissed for a dangerous tackle. Chris Hankinson made amends for his missed conversion earlier in the game as he kicked a penalty just before the break.

After the restart, Damien Sironen levelled matters with a converted score but that would prove to be Bradford’s only score of the day. Cory Aston added the extras. Tries from Ben White and Liam Forsyth gave the Lions an unassailable advantage and real hope of survival in the Championship heading into the seven Shield games.
