England star suffers worrying injury

Former Super League star Josh Hodgson has suffered a worrying injury.

The hooker, who started out at Hull FC but made his name at Hull KR, is an England international and a standout player in the NRL for the better part of a decade.

He recently joined Parramatta Eels from the Canberra Raiders after an injury hit last campaign in the capital.

However, he has now suffered another injury and it seems worrying as is always the case with beck injuries.

The hooker is set for scans after the club made the following statement on the club website:

“The Parramatta Eels can provide the following update on the NRL squad’s injured players.

“Ryan Matterson and Joe Ofahengaue are both available for selection in Round 16 after overcoming calf injuries sustained over the past month. The Eels’ squad to face the Sea Eagles on Saturday will be named at 4pm on Tuesday.

“Following scans, it is expected that Wiremu Greig will miss another six weeks with a Lisfranc (foot) injury. He is anticipated to return around Round 22.

“Josh Hodgson is awaiting scan results to determine the severity of a neck injury which ruled him out of the Eels’ win over the Bulldogs on Monday.”
