England turned in a classy performance to claim a 34-18 Test win over Samoa at the Brick Community Stadium in Wigan on Sunday.

Jack Welsby: A strong showing from the full-back who proved a threat with the ball in hand and had a say in Mikey Lewis’ effort at the end. 7
Dominic Young: Showed glimpses of his skill at times and had the opportunity to showcase his pace in the second half, too. 7
Harry Newman: Set up Williams’ try with a smart run against the grain and carried well out of backfield. 7
Herbie Farnworth: Showed why he is so highly rated Down Under with some special moments of play. Took his try well and set up Victor Radley, too. 8
Matty Ashton: A constant threat with the ball in hand. Samoa struggled with his speed and he claimed two tries on the day. 8
George Williams: A man of the match showing from the half-back. He was unplayable at times as he rose to the occasion and dictated attacking play. 9
Harry Smith: Kicked well and controlled the game, which is why Shaun Wane gave him the nod over Mikey Lewis. A classy showing. 8
Ethan Havard: Got through plenty of work in the middle during his two spells on the field. 7
Daryl Clark: Built the platform for the opener and constantly posed questions of the Samoa line but threw the interception that saw Deine Mariner score before the break. 8
Matty Lees: Strong through the middle and helped England take control of the contest early on. 7
Kai Pearce-Paul: A positive performance from the back-rower, who can expect to keep his place in the line-up for next week. 7
John Bateman: A determined and feisty showing from the Wests Tigers man, who made his mark on the contest. 8
Victor Radley: Dug deep at times and his efforts were rewarded with a try just after the break. 8
