England international Victor Radley urged to explore NRL and Super League options

England and Sydney Roosters star Victor Radley

England international Victor Radley has reportedly been told to explore his options away from Sydney Roosters.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, the Roosters are considering the possibility to offloading Radley with the forward allegedly being connected to Brandon Smith’s well-documented court case. And, the report claims that Radley’s management has been urged to consider options in the NRL or Super League.

Radley still has two years left to run on his contract with the Roosters, and the report claims that the Eastern Suburbs outfit are not keen on sacking the forward amid the possibility of legal action. But, they would be keen to let him go as they assess their options.

Radley has not been charged with a crime and there is no allegation of wrongdoing, it should be said.

However, his name has cropped up as part of the case against Smith, who will appear in Southport Magistrates Court this week where he is expected to plead not guilty to unlawfully supplying a dangerous drug and using or disclosing inside knowledge for betting.

As such, chairman Nick Politis, who has previously underlined a zero tolerance drug policy at the club, is reportedly unhappy to see the Roosters associated with the case, and Radley’s representatives have been asked to consider their options.

Radley would more than likely pick up plenty of interest should he be made available and a number of Super League clubs would certainly jump at the chance to sign the 27-year-old.

The loose-forward has made 161 appearances for the Roosters throughout his career, scoring 26 tries along the way.

He has also collected nine caps for England after making himself eligible for selection ahead of the 2022 World Cup. He has scored two tries for the nation and is expected to play a big part in this autumn’s Ashes series against Australia.
