England international Herbie Farnworth could be set for shock move to the UK

England international Herbie Farnworth could be set for a shock move.

That’s according to the World Wide of Sports’ The Mole, which has revealed that Farnworth is being hunted by rugby union sides in the UK.

New NRL side Dolphins have also been keeping tabs on the current Brisbane Broncos centre.

Still only 21, Farnworth has been a small ray of light in Brisbane’s dour past few seasons in the Australian competition, with the Dolphins prepared to make a substantial offer.

Wide World of Sports had previously heard that the Dolphins had prepared to offer Farnworth ‘overs’ to get him to put pen to paper, with quotes reporting as much as half a million Australian dollars a season.

The Dolphins, who will be part of the NRL from the 2023 season onwards, have so far only managed to get two signings over the line in the shape of Felise Kaufusi from Melbourne Storm and Ray Stone from the Parramatta Eels.

The trouble for the new side is that most of the NRL clubs do not have players available past 2023 given the determination to tie down their best stars.

But, with just over a year until the Brisbane-based side take to Australia’s most prized competition, the club needs to act fast in order to build a formidable side.

That means that rugby union clubs have been alerted too with a three-way tussle now on the cards.

Farnworth has made 41 appearances since debuting for the Broncos back in 2019, scoring nine tries and kicking 19 goals.
