Elimination Play-offs cleared to go ahead after negative Covid-19 tests

Super League has confirmed that the four clubs taking part in this week’s Elimination Play-offs have all returned negative Covid-19 tests.

There was just one positive result from the 393 tests taken by clubs, officials and other relevant staff this week, while three results remain outstanding but are expected to be received later today.

Castleford Tigers and Hull KR, both of whom have been working with the RFL’s Multiple Cases Group after coronavirus outbreaks, are no longer subject to the Multiple Cases Framework after receiving full sets of negative results in the last week.

They will now join Wakefield and Salford in stepping away from regular testing for the off-season, as will Huddersfield Giants, who had been on stand-by for the Elimination Play-Offs this week after finishing seventh in Super League, but were informed last night that they will now not be required to step in.

The full results for the week starting November 2, updated since last Thursday’s summary, were 14 positives, spread across six clubs, from 636 tests.
