After around two months of speculation the Parramatta Eels have officially announced the signing of Wests Tigers second-rower Ryan Matterson on a three-year-deal.
Although there is no official word on how much Matterson will be earning, most reports suggest he’ll be earning a overall amount of around $1,500,000.
This is seemingly the “perfect deal”, or at least one that makes perfect sense.
Ryan Matterson is a Parramatta junior and was rumoured to have left the Tigers in search for a bigger deal.
The Eels had just lost current second-rower Manu Ma’u to Hull FC and had plenty of cash to spare.
The back-rower was selected as New South Wales’ 18th man for State of Origin III in 2019 and looks poised to break into the top 17 in 2020.
