Eddie Hemmings says Super League coach “is under the most intense pressure”

Leeds Rhinos are in a rough patch at the moment.

With one win from the last seven games, they are now six points off the play-offs.

The Rhinos have also lost to the bottom two in their last two games.

Thus, it has been said that Rohan Smith is under pressure.

This comes from former Sky Sports commentator Eddie Hemmings.

“At Headingley the word is that coach Rohan Smith is now under the most intense pressure,” he said on the Eddie and Stevo podcast.

“One win from the last six games, six points off a playoff place with twelve games remaining. Leeds under their coach, they’re not performing.

“When you consider that the bottom two, Castleford and Wakefield, they’ve won just four games between them this year and three of those have come against Leeds. The questions are starting to be asked.”

Stevo meanwhile asked a big question:

“What would happen if say for instance that Leeds continued to lose every single game and Wakefield and Castleford, climb the ladder, which is also possible, maybe not as feasible. Then they could be relegated.

“They’ve got to start looking at the points table and say, we’re not safe. Castleford are not safe either.

“Look I can remember Gary Hetherington said that Richard Agar basically was there as long as he wants, after they won the Challenge Cup. It didn’t take long before that went sour.”
