It is only a week ago that Castleford Tigers announced that they were parting company with Lee Radford.
In the statement one line caught the eye about both parties heading in opposite directions.
This led to speculation that Radford already had a move lined up and there have been rumours that he had already secured a move to the NRL as an assistant after impressing during the Rugby League World Cup as assistant to finalists Samoa.
Now former Sky Sports commentator Eddie Hemmings has claimed that he could be headed to Cronulla Sharks due to his connections there.
This came after his former commentary partner Stevo said on the Eddie and Stevo podcast:
“I don’t think it was Castleford’s decision, I think deep down that Lee Radford wanted to get out simple as that. I honestly feel it’s Lee Radford’s decision and certainly not the club’s decision, but that’s only my opinion.”
This was when Eddie hinted at the Cronulla move: “Well you might be report because the reports are linking him with a move to Australia. He’s a big pal of Craig Fitzgibbon’s, he played with him at Hull and they’re saying that’s his next destination, Cronulla off he goes.”
Stevo then added:Â “They certainly didn’t play up to expectations at home against Souths who played exceptionally well, but some of the defence that Cronulla showed maybe there is an opportunity for Radford to pack his bags and fly out to Australia.
