Josh McGuire is one of the major talking points in Super League at the moment.
The Warrington Wolves star was hit with a 12 match ban after a tribunal saw him hit with a huge suspension for something he allegedly said to Leigh Leopards star Josh Charnley.
He has now left the Wolves.
Speaking on the Eddie and Stevo podcast, Eddie Hemmings said on the ban:
“No, it’s two-thirds of the campaign, 19 games. The tribunal that was held last week lasted several hours, apparently. He might be back by the end of August. If not, he won’t be available until September.
“The worrying thing is the comments were made to Josh Charnley about a relative of his for the second time, I believe.
“Now, look, drug-related suspensions are much longer than this but no player though has ever received a 12 match ban in the history of Super League.”
Despite the suspension, Hemmings said that McGuire is “a really nice guy.”
Hemmings said: “I’m told that he’s a really, really nice guy. Off the field, and on the field, and amongst the club, he’s a really, really good character.”
