Eddie Hemmings believes Brodie Croft ‘might be on his way’ as predicts Super League big boys to circle Salford Red Devils star

Eddie Hemmings believes Salford Red Devils star Brodie Croft ‘might be on his way’ to Super League rivals

If there is one player that ha slit up Super League in 2022 then is Salford Red Devils star Brodie Croft.

After enduring a tough few years at the Brisbane Broncos, the diminutive halfback made his way halfway across the world to take up the red jersey of Salford – and boy what a move it has been.

Croft, who was crowned Steve Prescott Man of Steel earlier in the week at the showpiece event at Headingley, has thrown his name in lights this season, but for former Sky Sports pundit Eddie Hemmings, that has only served to widen his appeal to Super League rivals.

Hemmings, referencing the past deal Salford made with Jackson Hastings, was keen to stress that he wanted to see Croft remain at the AJ Bell Stadium.

“I hope lightning doesn’t strike twice, Salford did a fantastic job with Hastings and he waved good bye, Brodie Croft gets Man of Steel and he didn’t commit 100% (when asked by Brian Carney if he would be staying),” Eddie Hemmings said on The Last Tackle podcast.

“He says he likes Super League and that he liked Super League but he never said he would like to stay at Salford but for Salford’s sake I hope he doesn’t leave.

“The big clubs will try and get Brodie Croft, I am 100% convinced as they did with Jackson Hastings, but fingers crossed I hope they hold onto him.

“I have a feeling he might be on his way.”
