Early Hull FC v Hull KR team news as 12 players ruled out ahead of derby clash

The third instalment of Super League’s Rivals Round is now upon us, and the game that will kick it all off sees Hull KR travel to rivals Hull FC.

The Robins have won the first two derbies this season, but with some key players unavailable for this game, Hull FC now have as good a chance as any to claim their first derby win in over three years.

Both sides go into the tie on the back of a loss, with KR losing to Warrington Wolves and FC being defeated by Leigh Leopards.

The pair were both down heavily at half-time before mounting somewhat of a comeback, but neither side head into the contest in good form, so it could be all to play for.

Ahead of the 21-man squads being released tomorrow, here is the lowdown on all the early team news from both camps.

Hull FC v Hull KR ‘outs and doubts

Hull FC:

Home side FC are still enduring an “unprecedented” injury crisis, and have plenty of key players unavailable.

Will Pryce, John Asiata, Sam Lisone, Connor Bailey and Ligi Sao, Arthur Romano and Brad Fash are all sidelined through various blows, but the good news is that Lewis Martin will be available after passing HIA protocols.

Yusuf Aydin is the latest player to pick up a knock, after failing a HIA last week.

Ruled out: Will Pryce (ACL), John Asiata (hamstring), Sam Lisone (pectoral), Ligi Sao (shoulder), Arthur Romano (ankle), Connor Bailey (clavicle), Brad Fash (MCL), Will Kirby (knee), Joe Ward (ACL), Yusuf Aydin (HIA).

Hull KR:

The big blow for KR is that star man Mikey Lewis will miss the next four matches after copping a lengthy suspension this week. The former Man of Steel was charged twice, for a head butt and for a late hit, which has seen him pick up a total of 23 penalty points.

Also missing through suspension this week is Tevita Pangai Jr, who will serve his fourth match of a six-game ban.

Noah Booth will miss this week after failing a HIA, whilst there is some uncertainty over Joe Burgess, and whether he will make a return to the side.

Peta Hiku will be back from suspension, whilst Jai Whitbread missed last week purely because of selection.
