The line-up for the 2026 Super League campaign has now been confirmed with three clubs winning promotion from the Championship and one tumbling out of the top tier.
Salford Red Devils were the side to lose Super League status after dropping to 15th in the IMG gradings. Such a fall did not come as a surprise but it means the club will be competing in the Championship next season, should they manage to sort out their issues with HMRC.
Bradford Bulls took their place in the initial 12 on Thursday morning and the club was joined in Super League by York Knights and Toulouse Olympique following their successful applications.
It means that Super League will be a 14-team competition next year, but the bookies aren’t giving any of the three clubs coming up much chance of making a splash, it seems. The trio prop up the early Super League Grand Final winner odds list, with each team being handed odds of 100/1 by Betfred.
What might come as more of a shock is that Wigan Warriors are considered to be the early frontrunners to win at Old Trafford in 12 months’ time. The Warriors lost to Hull KR last week in the 2025 Grand Final, but they’re currently 2/1 to reclaim the Super League crown in 2026.
The Robins are second favourites at 5/2, with keeping hold of the three trophies they claimed in 2025 set to be on their minds as they begin preparation for the new campaign.
Leeds Rhinos are third favourites at 11/2 as they look to take another stride forward under Brad Arthur while St Helens are at 13/2, with the club currently looking for a new head coach.
Warrington Wolves and Leigh Leopards have been given odds of 12/1 to win the Super League for the first time, while the improving Hull FC are at 16/1.
Catalans Dragons are eighth in the list at 25/1, followed by Wakefield Trinity (40/1), Huddersfield Giants (50/1) and Castleford Tigers (80/1).
