REPORTS: Dugan heading for Super League?

Josh Dugan could be heading for Super League in 2020, according to reports in League Express and League Weekly.

The utility back is still under contract with Cronulla but with gun centre Jesse Ramien reportedly returning to the Sharks, Dugan will likely be allowed to leave.

Reports in Australia suggest his preference would be to stay in the NRL, however there will certainly be suitors from the Northern Hemisphere.

The outstanding problem with that, however, is his wages.

Dugan would undoubtedly command marquee money, which rules out a move for the majority of clubs.

Then there’s the overseas quota, with only Catalans, Huddersfield, London, St Helens and Wigan having space free for new overseas signings.

Toronto are also in a position to recruit from overseas, however even they would struggle to meet Dugan’s asking price.

It would be some coup if a club could pull it off, but it seems almost certain that Josh Dugan won’t be a Super League player in 2020.
